Access Point To Straddie

Cleveland's Toondah Harbour is the access point for all ferry services travelling to North Stradbroke Island.Ferries depart from Toondah Harbour, Emmett Drive, Cleveland, 4163 Qld and arrive at the township of Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island, 4183 Qld. Vehicle ferries and passenger ferries depart hourly from early morning to late in the evening, 7 days a week. Vehicle ferries take 50 minutes and passenger ferries take 25 minutes

Brisbane To Cleveland

Brisbane City to Cleveland takes approximately 45 minutes by car, but to be safe allow about 20 minutes extra for traffic and to check onto the vehicle ferry or park if you're catching a passenger ferry. If you wish to hire a car for your stay please contact www.bettacarhire.com who can allow rental cars to be brought over to the Island and can even arrange airport drop off for you. If you are not travelling by car simply take the train from Central or Roma Street Station to Cleveland Station which takes around an hour and leaves approximately every half an hour. Airports To Cleveland

It's easy to catch public transport from Brisbane Airport. Just take the Airtrain to Brisbane Central train station which departs every 15 minutes to the city during peak times and takes approximately 20 mins. Then catch a train to Cleveland, which will take about an hour. Alternatively you can take a shuttle bus from Brisbane Airport directly to the Stradbroke Island ferry terminal at Toondah Harbour, Cleveland. Visit the Bay-Air Transfers website for times and fares or call 0422 691 971. Taxis are available and will cost approximately $80.00 please see www.yellowcab.com.au/ for further details. From the Gold Coast airport catch a bus or train from the Gold Coast to Brisbane Central. Then take the train from Central or Roma Street Station to Cleveland Station which takes around an hour and leaves approximately every half an hour. There is a courtesy bus that will meet you at the Cleveland train station and take you on a 5 minute trip to Toondah Harbour.

Vehicle Ferries

Standard cars can be taken to North Stradbroke Island, the main roads on the island are sealed and easily accessible. Four-wheel drives are not necessary unless you are planning to drive on one of our many beautiful beaches. Driving on the beach does require a 4WD beach permit which can be purchased from various Island outlets. Vehicle ferries operate to North Stradbroke Island with services running hourly throughout the day departing from Toondah Harbour, Emmett Drive, Cleveland. The journey takes approx. 50 minutes but it is recommended you arrive 20 minutes before departure for boarding. Some of the ferries available do have air conditioned licensed cafes on board. Passenger Ferries

There are two passenger ferry operators with services to North Stradbroke Island. Both operators, "Stradbroke Ferries Water Taxi" and Gold Cats "Stradbroke Flyer" depart daily from Toondah Harbour, Emmett Drive, Cleveland. They arrive in Dunwich approximately 1km apart. "Stradbroke Ferries" arrives in Junner Street, Dunwich and the "Stradbroke Flyer" arrives at One Mile Jetty, Yabby Street, Dunwich. Stradbroke Island buses connect with both passenger ferries and can drop you directly in front of the resort. The trip takes 25 minutes and bookings are not required as tickets are sold on board. For people leaving their vehicles in Cleveland there is free public car parking is available at Toondah Harbour, Cleveland. A secure car parking area is also available at a fee through Stradbroke Ferries.
